About Kaitlyn Lonnee
I'm currently assistant managing editor at Simon & Schuster Canada, where I've worked on numerous titles, both fiction and nonfiction. I am an accomplished and highly competent editor, comfortable with any manner of document. If you need something edited, shoot me a DM and we can chat! I have earned a graduate certificate in Creative Book Publishing from Humber College, where I graduated top of my class. Prior to that, I completed an Honours Bachelor of Arts with an Honours Specialization in Creative Writing and English Language and Literature and an interdisciplinary major in general Arts & Humanities in association with SASAH (School for Advanced Studies in the Arts and Humanities) at Western University. At Western, I was also a member of my faculty's student council where my title was Creative Managing Editor of publications, and I worked for almost two years at Indigo Books & Music as a CER. I've been published in a couple different places and have been previously employed as a copy editor. My greatest accomplishment to date has been making the long-list of the 2020 Bridge Prize National Short Story Award run by the University of Lethbridge; out of 340 entries, I placed in the top 10. I also received the 2020 Mackie Cryderman Award for Excellence in Creative Writing. In the summer of 2021, I won the Writers on Eighth poetry contest and had my entry published in the Klondike Sun.In my free time, I've completed numerous flash fictions, short stories, a few plays, several novellas, and am in the process of writing my first novel as a continuation of my fourth-year thesis project.
