I created microfluidic devices from start-to-finish including: the mold development for embedding designs (ultimately creating the device) through photolithography, making the device itself, quality checking, and making the imaging system to track a protein of interest moving through the device. Mold development took place at the UMN Nanofabrication Center. I assisted in conducting photolithography with negative photoresist to create high-resolution microchannel patterns on silicon wafers. The high-speed imaging systems, for the microfluidic devices, consisted of a custom camera, a processing box and its exterior. All components were 3D printed, soldered, and optimized for a compact and efficient fit. I also trained a few employees until efficiency and mastery at microfluidic device fabrication.

I fabricated microfluidic devices for processing patient blood samples for the purpose of early cancer detection. I also optimized and documented fabrication process in preparation for regulatory reviews under the guidance of a senior engineer.
