Simply put, I became a lawyer because I wanted to help people solve problems. This has been my focus throughout my legal career, as I guide clients through some of the most difficult times in their lives. As legal counsel with the Hospital Employees’ Union I practiced in areas of labour, human rights, employment and administrative law. I have extensive litigation experience and have appeared as counsel before a wide variety of administrative tribunals and at all levels of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada.

Namibia

As a staff lawyer at CLAS, I represented disadvantaged persons throughout British Colombia in the areas of human rights, workers’ rights, immigration and housing. There I litigated a number of important test cases and collaborated with other social justice organizations on law reform and legal education initiatives.
