Developed building energy models for varying building types using eQUEST and IES VE for site planning approval (SPA), building permit and incentive programs using region specific standards throughout Canada, e.g., Toronto Green Standard, Ontario Building Code SB-10, Manitoba Energy Code for Buildings, etc. Performed building energy audits and analyzed building utility data in existing buildings to identify trends in energy use through modelling, and recommend measures to reduce energy consumption, energy demand, GHG emissions and cost. Assisted in tool development to better streamline the building information takeoffs process to be input into respective energy modelling software. Developed performance screening tools for new emerging technologies for pilot projects in Ontario in Excel. Designed to test for feasibility and GHG reductions and provided supplementary user manual, listing full functionality and limitations. Performed Solar PV studies through the use of NREL System Advisor Model (SAM) tool, with accompanied simple payback and NPV evaluations for residences, community centers, parking structures, university campus buildings, and office buildings.Trained and supervised several new hires for energy modelling, data analysis, incentive program coordination, and general onboarding.Coordinated incentive program applications for energy and GHG reductions, lighting and HVAC streams through various utility providers across Canada.

Developed technology screening tool for industry partners to evaluate feasibility of GAHP in any building given the demand profile and respective climate data through Excel.Designed TRNSYS3D model, a software based on OpenStudio source code, of the Archetype Sustainable Houses (ASH) in Vaughan, ON in SketchUp for building energy modelling.Simulated a GAHP system in the ASH using TRNSYS, energy modelling software with high level of customization, to investigate system efficiency, cost effectiveness and GHG reductions of GAHP in Canadian climates. Published and presented at two conferences for ASHRAE and AIRAH/IBPSA, discussing results of technological evaluation of GAHP and identified potential applications and key areas for improvement.

Created SolidWorks CAD models to simulate Thermal Energy Storages (TES) for charging and discharging cycles using SolidWorks Flow Simulation. Redesigned the mechanical system schematic needed for testing of Air Source Heat Pump with Water Heater (ASHPWH) performance for A.O. Smith and Ryerson University collaboration at ASH facility. Set up and calibrated RTD and flow sensors to collect experimental data for validation using National Instruments (NI) equipment and LabVIEW for ASHPWH evaluation in ASH at TRCA.
