I am an experienced accounting intern and student. I have worked as an accounting intern at Caliber Collision for over two years. In that time, I have learned the importance of being self-driven and willing to take on any tasks that are given to me. Initially, I was interested in becoming a CPA because of the many benefits it comes with. Recently, I changed my perspective and decided that I want to become a CPA because I know that I can. I believe that I am capable and that I can ask for more from myself. Before I started working as an accounting intern, I would never have expected to be in a position like that before turning twenty-one, and I was. I consider that opportunity a major accomplishment that has permanently altered the way I view myself and what I am capable of. The jobs I had before my internship taught me valuable personal skills. I learned how to talk to other people in a work setting, whether they were my coworkers or our customers. Currently my goals are to graduate from the University of North Texas with my BS/MS degree, and move forward with becoming a CPA. I plan on interning and working in public accounting afterwards. My goal is to always learn more in my career. I want to gain experience and connections while discovering my favorite parts about accounting in order settle into a career that I love.I already know that I am comfortable working in excel and word, and I hope to learn new accounting software along the way. Even though I am young and new to the accounting world, I learned a long time ago that a positive attitude is the best way to start and end each day. I say this meaning that no matter what new task, issue, or project arises the only way to best handle the situation is to think of new solutions and ways to improve it without worrying too much about what I don’t know.
