Born and raised in Yasin, Gilgit-Baltistan, I witnessed firsthand the devastating effects of climate change on vulnerable communities, particularly during a flash flood in 2006, which shaped my passion for environmental advocacy. This personal experience inspired me to co-found Fridays for Future Pakistan in 2018, where I have been actively working to raise awareness about climate change and promote sustainable living.I hold a degree in Development Studies from Iqra University, Islamabad, which has equipped me with a deep understanding of the socio-economic dimensions of environmental issues. My journey has led me to represent youth voices at COP28 as a youth delegate, where I contribute to global climate discussions and policy-making.Currently, I am the Program Coordinator for Plant-for-the-Planet Pakistan, where I lead initiatives that educate students and communities about climate change, focusing on tree planting and environmental sustainability. In this role, I oversee nationwide climate education programs, ensuring that the next generation is empowered to take action against the climate crisis.As a volunteer and consultant, I have contributed to projects with WWF-Pakistan, OMLAS, and the Billion Tree Tsunami Project, working closely with indigenous communities and in Disaster Risk Reduction in Gilgit-Baltistan. Additionally, I have been involved in livelihood restoration for flood-affected communities and played a key role in organizing digital skills training for youth in remote areas, focusing on e-commerce and freelancing.I am passionate about fostering grassroots engagement, driving community empowerment, and supporting climate resilience efforts, particularly in my home region of Gilgit-Baltistan.
