‘Ron Robinson Roofing’ is my family's business, started by my grandfather. I have worked here whenever possible for several years, during my education and in addition to my other part time jobs.This role requires me to be a reliable, adaptable and hardworking multitasker, handling jobs such as keeping the jobsites clean and tidy, assisting in the handling/operation of heavy materials and machinery whilst working outdoors in all conditions for long periods of time. As well as working in dangerous or challenging conditions as is often required. This role should demonstrate that I am not afraid to get my hands dirty and get stuck into those more physically demanding and less glamorous roles.

I was a part-time member of staff for 6 years working for ‘Shepherds Dene Retreat House’ starting in 2017 and continuing to work in a part time capacity whenever I return home. Here I have developed a close relationship with a supportive and welcoming team who have taught me many invaluable skills in this area of work. My duties included, washing dishes, serving food, cleaning and maintenance work and general kitchen duties, whilst delivering a friendly and welcoming experience for guests. In addition to this I also worked as a housekeeper, helping with the cleaning and organization of the house and assisting during the turnaround of guests. This involved jobs such as cleaning guest rooms and bathrooms, making beds, making sure everything was resupplied for the next visitors and cleaning the shared spaces.

As an usher we were the face of the cinema, responsible for customer service roles such as greeting customers, taking bookings in person and on the phone, serving food and drinks behind the café/bar and keeping the cinema and cafe spaces clean.I was also trained as a projectionist which was a role that involved ensuring the smooth running of the films each day, as well as building playlists and taking deliveries. I was also responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the café’s coffee machines and ensuring this, along with all necessary projection equipment and computers were turned off each night. This role required meticulous attention to detail and time management as to ensure playlists were built correctly and all films played on time. This was also a very technical role that required the operation of large pieces of technical equipment, such as the cinemas projector and speaker system.
