We support engagement of TWS' volunteer-led organizational units on policy issues and I work with a committee of our governing board to formulate and publish position statements on conservation issues. The communications team conducts independent reporting and writes original articles for our website and The Wildlife Professional magazine, the Society’s flagship membership magazine published on a bi-monthly basis. I serve as the Editor-in-Chief of the magazine and work with a 20+ member editorial advisory board to craft magazine content and solicit contributed articles. The journals team facilitates publishing of TWS' scientific journals: Journal of Wildlife Management, Wildlife Society Bulletin, Wildlife Monographs. I manage the relationship with our publisher, and work with the team and journal EICs to promote journal submissions and published manuscripts. My program areas amount to $1.1 million. I manage budget formulation and tracking; personnel hiring and management; contractor relationships; operational planning and program deliverables. I work with our governing board committees and report on program area activities, budgets, and annual plans; discuss strategic growth areas, and leverage board member expertise and input on program direction.I also serve to represent the organization to external groups, with goal of developing partnerships and nurturing relationships to increase relevancy of the organization to the broader conservation community, develop potential fundraising opportunities, and support policy and other program objectives. -
