In collaboration with the department of gyneacology at Radboud University Medical Center in Nijmegen, I have investigated the impact of eHealth on doctors and patients. More specifically, I have examined the differences between face-to-face and online or computer-mediated doctor-patient interactions in information exchange, interpersonal relationship formation, and shared decision-making and the impact on doctors' and patients' satisfaction with a medical consultation. The results of my study have been presented at the International Conference on Communication in Healthcare 2014 and are published in the Journal of Medical Internet Research.

I assisted the Faculty of Humanities (TSH) in maintaining the database with learning outcomes and examination forms of courses from the bachelor and master programs of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Philosophy, Cultural Studies, and Communication and Information Sciences.

These decision concern granting or not granting an exemption, decisions regarding the binding recommendation on continuation of studies, and decision concerning fraud.

I have assisted in various research projects at the faculty of Humanities. I participated in a project founded by a Rathenau Institute Grant. In collaboration with Dr. A.P. Schouten and Dr. M.L. Antheunis I have conducted research for the project “Matchingmechanisms on Datingsites”. We wrote a chapter for the book ‘Voorgeprogrammeerd: Hoe Internet ons leven leidt’ based on an analysis of different datingsites, interviews with online daters, and patents. Other projects I have participated in include (1) a longitudinal study on the role of social network sites in adolescents‘ social lives, (2) a study on content marketing and the effects of brand relevance in Facebook messages on brand engagement and brand loyalty, and (3) a study on the determinators and effects of checking work email outside working hours via different mobile devices.

I am or have been a teaching assistant for the courses: Communication Theory, Communication in Organizations, Academic Dutch, Cognitive Science, Media Effects on Society, Social Aspects of New Media, and Methodology. My tasks include providing feedback on papers, grading papers and exams, and preparing lecture slides.

The research project I have worked on focused on the effects of smartphone use on offline relationships, social capital, and well-being.

Every two weeks I led a meeting for a group of 20-30 first year students of the Bachelor Communication and Information Sciences during their first semester. In these meetings we discussed the lecture material and additional information about the university and study methods.

I have conducted research into the impact of personalization and privacy concern on the effectiveness of an advertising campaign on social network sites and I presented this study at an international conference.

My tasks included answering questions and giving advice on matters relating to paying, savings, investments, mortgages and insurance.

I was responsible for the execution and reporting of market and customer research.

I was primarily responsible for the organization, marketing, finance, and presentation of an art auction, of which the revenue went entirely to the ‘Ronald McDonald Huis’ in Tilburg.
