I am a Wildlife Care Specialist at the Texas State Aquarium Wildlife Rescue Center. Raptors, shorebirds, sea turtles, and marine mammals are brought to the Rescue Center for acute medical care. Once the animal is healthy and deemed releasable, the animal is returned to its natural habitat. When the unfortunate instance arises that an animal is unable to be released, the Rescue Center works to place the animal in an accredited facility.
