Working in the Biopharmaceutical Science Future Leaders Program in the MSAT team for the production of Benlysta.

Through my work in H/D exchange for Organic LED products, I tripled the team’s weekly front-run output by formulating a new, optimized workflow. I arranged the scale-up of reactions after testing conditions such as temperature, concentration, flow rate, and residence time to achieve 90% purity and conversion on a front-run scale. I analyzed reaction data through mass spectrometry, liquid/gas chromatography, and nuclear magnetic resonance.

I oversaw a project about the Parkin protein and its role in Parkinsons Disease. I performed several thermofluorescence assays, reaction assays, and western blots in order to investigate the protein's interactions with over 100 therapeutically applicable compounds. In the end, I discovered 15 compounds which could be explored further for drug development. I also purified protein products to be used by the company and sold to customers.

I managed a project regarding the relationship between two proteins in the breast cancer tumor microenvironment. I created mutant genes through bacterial transformation, inserted these genes into tissue cultures, and examined the effects in western blotting and immunohistochemistry. My data was summarized in figures with the intent of publication in a manuscript.
