My work was focused on the environmental consequences of global change. I compiled and organized large volumes of (un-)structured spatial and temporal environmental and climatic data for effective analysis. I processed these large sets of raw data from different sources and performed statistical analyses to generate effective and intuitive visualization of primary insights. I also simulated changes in lake water quality in response to various global-change scenarios using supervised machine learning algorithms and deep neural networks. The deliverables include peer-reviewed publications, technical reports and presentations, and interactive dashboards. These products provide important insights into how human-induced changes in climate and catchment land-use can affect vital socioeconomic and ecological resources provided by freshwater ecosystems such as clean and safe drinking water, commercial fisheries, and recreational activities. The conclusions of my research help assist managers, policymakers, and stakeholders in decision-making and taking the restorative action necessary for a sustainable future for our planet. Show less
