Member of a small team charged with the task to unlock low perm gas in the Walloons coals of the Surat basin in Queensland. Activities formed part of an extensive multi-year exploration program to secure reserves, to extend plateau production and to justify a minimum of two LNG trains installation for liquefying gas. Activities involved a 40 well hydraulic fracturing program to explore the production potential of 1 – 20 mD coals. Major achievement:By the end of 2012, 39 of 40 wells were fracced, completed and put on production by the team without incidents.

New Plymouth, New Zealand

WRFM (Wells, Reservoir and Facilities Management) project lead for Maui offshore and Kapuni onshore fields. Also responsible for a variety of technical projects and duties as the Production Technologist for Maui and Kapuni fields, including running fracture stimulation programs.Major Achievements:- Planned and executed 24 successful work-overs in the Maui field during a 4 year period resulting in 40 PJ’s of incremental gas and 1.5 mln BBls of condensate and an additional revenue of 400 mln NZ$- Successful completion selection and post drilling clean up for Maui middle C sands infill project

Suriname

Production engineer for the Tamboredjo field onshore Suriname. Oil production from unconsolidated sands at depths from 300 – 400 mtrs. Foamy oil, produced almost exclusively with PCP pumps. In 2015 Staatsolie had over 1600 wells and produced 17000 bbls/day.Responsibilities: Production engineer for development wells (approximately 100/year). The support role comprised recommendation of well completion and pump systems and start-up procedures for shallow, heavy oil wells. The majority of wells was completed with PCP pumps and gravel packs.Production engineer for producing wells (over 700). In this role production rate recommendations were made, work-over candidates identified and proposals prepared.

Responsibilities included developing and maintaining network of consultants and generating revenue through outsourcing.Major achievement: Developed new account with major Gas & Oil Operator which was considered "hard to get". Brunel maintained the account for many years thereafter.
