I established KME Consulting in 2006 when my husband and I moved to Kansas from St. Louis. I worked as a consultant with Washington University and the Ford Foundation, the C.S. Mott Foundation, and First Nations Development Institute among many others.I am back in St. Louis (as of January 2013) and still working with Wash U. and the C. S. Mott Foundation. Principally, my work involves research and writing the resulting reports on social welfare policy related to inclusive economic policies (policies that provide incentives for people to save and invest for their futures, and their children's futures, at all income levels).I also write works of Fiction. My first book, "The Constant Child" was published in 2012, and is available on Amazon.com in paperback and ebook. My second book will be published in May or June 2013, "The Changeable Child" which is the second of a trilogy.

I helped Dr. Michael Sherraden establish the Center for Social Development at Wash U in 1994. I was the Admistrative Director and a Project Director at the Center for twelve years. My projects specifically dealt with developing and instituting state asset-building policies that provide incentives for people with salaries in the low- to moderate-income range to save for homeownership, microbusiness development, higher education, and retirement. Current economic policies favor wealthy savers and investors through the tax code, but provide few incentives for workers at lower income levels (under $50,000 per year for a family of four).
