My role over the past two years as a Global Forwarding Agent (GFA) involves working in global logistics, mainly Ocean Exports, for large companies. Maintaining customer relations in order to meet customer's demands is necessary to effectively provide great service. Paying attention to all details of a shipment is a must to ensure a smooth process.Building strong relations with our inland truckers is very important to maintain a reliable connection for moving cargo as scheduled. Other daily tasks include: Obtaining quotes, tracking departures and arrivals, working with overseas GFA's to ensure proper delivery of export cargo at destination, provide correct billing and invoicing to customer, following customs regulations and maritime law, working directly with sales team to retain customers. Overall my role is to set up every aspect a shipment directly with the customer and guarantee a smooth process until goods are delivered so they can depend on us again.
