I received my Indiana Library license in 2018. I work with the Programming and Outreach Team at the Eckhart Public Library in Auburn, IN. I have offered a preschool story time, an afterschool cooking program and a class on culture and geography for homeschool students each week. I do nonfiction collection development for the teen library and am involved with developing outreach programs with community partners. I provide coverage at public service desks at multiple locations. Throughout the pandemic I have learned how to offer virtual programming. As we transition back to a more hybrid model of programming, I am helping our team think through what strength each of these types will bring going forward. While working at Allen County Public Library I had a number of opportunities to work beyond the Hessen Cassel branch. -I served on and chaired the Young Adult Summer Reading Program committee. - I initiated part an ad hoc team working with Citilink to put books in their stations for children and adults to share together on the bus. - I presented programming ideas at an ILF district conference in South Bend, IN. - I filled in as staff at Reader's Services, Georgetown, Little Turtle and Shawnee. - For several years I represented the library at the Aung San Suu Kyii Day Literacy Fair held at IPFW by the New Immigrant Literacy Program. I participated in YALSA programs on young adult literature. I attended a continuing education event on the Early Literacy standards used in story times. I volunteer as a Trail Guide with Little River Wetlands Project at Eagle Marsh. Many of my groups have been pre-schoolers. I teach Sunday School and was part of a curriculum writing task force in my congregation.
