I am a multilingual individual proficient in English, Japanese, Mandarin, and French. I have an Associate of Arts from Langara College, where I was a four-time scholarship recipient who graduated with distinction in December 2022.With my strong passion for the Japanese language, which I have been learning since February 2014, I have been actively involving myself in Japanese-related volunteer positions over the past few years to give back to the local Vancouver community, most notably as a Japanese instructor at Gordon Neighbourhood House and a classroom assistant at Vancouver Japanese Language School.While I may not be a native Japanese speaker, I possess the invaluable firsthand experience of also learning Japanese as a second language, so I know exactly what kinds of obstacles my students would face in the long but rewarding journey of developing Japanese proficiency.I believe that my years of experience teaching Japanese as a non-native speaker, along with a TESOL & TEFL Diploma which I obtained in July 2023, would equip me with the necessary skills to also teach English as a native speaker to non-native learners.I embrace kindness, patience, and dedication--the values that I believe to define a good teacher--in my teaching.
