Supported groundwater, soil vapor (SV), and soil remediation efforts as a hydrogeologist and field team lead for private and public clients including Eastern Municipal Water District, Kinder Morgan, Dow, NAVFAC, UPRR, and Honeywell International. Provided contractor oversight and construction management services during direct-push and reverse circulation mud rotary drilling well construction and development of groundwater extraction and Soil Vapor Extraction/Air Sparge (SVE/AS) wells. Oversaw and conducted semi-annual monitoring well inspections and groundwater sampling of non-aqueous phase liquid wells and soil vapor extraction wells. Conducted monthly SWPPP, quarterly SPCC, and semi-annual IDW inspections. Interested in pursuing projects related to the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) and Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR).

Supported efforts under a contract with USACE to comply with environmental laws issued by federal, state, and local agencies, including Regional Water Quality Board Requirements, CCR, and RCRA. Provided technical guidance and direction for the preparation and submission of reports on environmental work at NTC Fort Irwin, including groundwater well installation work plans, semi-annual soil gas and groundwater monitoring reports, and a remedial investigation/feasibility study for groundwater. Served as the Field Team Lead for Landfill Area post-closure maintenance and monitoring effort, and directed quarterly environmental surveys on groundwater, soil gas, and landfill conditions. Managed and directed the production of an Environmental Engineering/Cost Analysis for three abandoned uranium mines and affected drainages on the Navajo Nation under a contract with USEPA. Provided geological, hydrological, and environmental guidance and technical assistance, and identified environmental laws applicable to the project. Participated in public meetings with the Navajo community and USEPA regarding this cleanup effort.

Assisted with research with the Earth and Planetary Science Department at the Critical Zone Observatory, Eel River Watershed, CA. Collected ground and surface water samples from the Eel River watershed using a Sensoil Vadose Monitoring System, Solinst discrete interval samplers, and water level probes. Sampling activities included in-field analyses on water samples for content of anions, cations, stable isotopes, dissolved organic carbon, dissolved inorganic carbon, and pH. Adapted data collection techniques to changing weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, and rain.

-Conducted supervised research investigating the origin of sulfide plaques on wild rice roots on Ojibwe land of the Fond du Lac band in Northern Minnesota.-Studied Acid Volatile Sulfide levels and solid iron levels present in the rhizosphere of Wild Rice (Zizania Palustris) plants, and the accumulation of Iron (II) Sulfide plaques, which have been observed under sulfate-bearing aquatic conditions and which are suspected to be involved in harming rice reproduction. -This study was made possible by NSF award NSF EAR 1461006, Nathan Johnson PhD., and Sophie LaFond-Hudson MS at the University of Minnesota Duluth
