My initial responsibilities with Fusion Education Group (formerly the American Education Group) focused on replicating the original Fusion Academy & Learning Center model into a nationwide brand. Today, what started in Michelle's house as an educational therapy, tutoring, and mentoring business, has grown to 70+ locations nationwide. While I've held numerous roles with Fusion Education Group (FEG), today, I work in the People Development Team, where we coach leaders, train & develop our staff, and infuse our cultural DNA into our new leaders and managers for all four FEG brands nationwide and globally. > Fusion Academy> Fusion Global Academy> Barnstable> Futures AcademyMy team and I oversee all aspects of our employee's life cycle, from hiring to promotions to exit. We ensure our staff have all of the knowledge and leadership skills they need to grow and develop in their current and future roles. In 2018, Novus Global conducted a 2-day intensive to train our team as executive coaches to launch FEG’s internal coaching program. The training brought together all of my experiences in training, mentoring, and leadership development. I fell in love with the process and executive coaching. Running Fusion's internal executive coaching program for campus leaders has allowed me to narrow my focus to my true passions; leadership development, executive coaching, and ongoing professional development for our campus leaders. Because of my love for executive coaching, in 2020, I enrolled in Novus Global's 18-month Meta-Performance Institute of Coaching™ certification program to strengthen my executive coaching skills. Certified in July 2021.

Had it not been for Michelle Gilman, I might be a medical doctor today. Starting in high school and continuing in college as a pre-med, I ran my own tutoring company as a side business. After college, I decided to take a year to apply to medical school. During this time, Michelle Gilman hired me to help with her educational therapy, tutoring, and mentoring business (Fusion), which she was running out of her house. I quickly fell in love with the work and decided not to pursue medical school. Instead, I went back to school to get a certification in educational therapy and eventually bought into the business I helped grow to become a co-owner and executive director.Fusion was a tutoring center offering a mentoring approach for students of all ages, while specializing in grades 6 - 12. Our clients received educational therapy in a 1:1 learning environment with training and mentoring tailored to their individual needs. As we grew, I took on various roles outside of working directly with families and students, including:> Curriculum development.> Hiring and training for new employees.> Mentoring and coaching new teachers.> Developing training plans for all positions.> Running day-to-day operations.While we were able to impact student success significantly, we recognized many parents and students felt disenfranchised by the traditional school model. So we decided to expand into a fully accredited school using the 1:1 student to teacher/mentor model. In 2008, to continue to grow Fusion, we decided to sell the company to the American Education Group.
