Washington Friends of Farms & Forests is a 200+ member non-profit trade association based in Olympia, WA. We support agriculture and timber producers in Washington by working to ensure a science-based regulatory system. Our membership is made up of farmers, timber producers, nursery owners, ag retailers and others who produce food or wood products or manage land or support those who do. We work for a greater public understanding of the challenges faced by producers of food and fiber including the responsible use of biotechnology and pesticides.As the executive assistant/membership services coordinator, I am responsible for the daily office operations, including keeping the organization's books up to date, identifying and recruiting potential new members and assisting with planning and producing educational programs. In addition, I plan the organization's meetings and events and coordinate outreach through social media, print materials and attending tradeshows.This position allows me to combine my love of food and farming with my background in event and program management and it has been a great experience getting to know the amazing people who grow our food.
