My role was to help build and develop the equities support team locally in Belfast. I was also responsible as an SME of the Equities risk platform. I was working as part of the senior management team to find effectiveness and efficiency solutions to the process and tasks the team do on a daily basis while also working to improve production stability within the platform.As added responsibility later in this role I was given lead of release management, all offshore risk teams and also the global risk technical support team. Application Support Analyst
I was part of a third line support team that was responsible for supporting a trading platform for the Paris cash markets.We were responsible for ensuring that the application is running throughout trading hours.We were also responsible for small bug fixes and enhancements of the starting and stopping process of the application.We were also responsible for running simulations for the business test cases and the implementation of the releases submitted through the change process from the development teams.

I was responsible for front office application and business support to the London trade floor for foreign exchange options. I was also given a leading support role for the introduction of a new application that was to replace the application that was previously used by the traders. I was responsible for being the point of contact for trade floor support issues for the FX options environment which required me to communicate with both technology and business users directly.As part of my role I was escalation to the junior support staff which required me to provide regular training and knowledge transfer on the applications that we supported. It also required me to act as a mentor to the junior staff. I was also responsible for giving feedback and support to the junior support staffs line manager when ever required.Through this role I was given the responsibility of overseeing bug fixes in the applications we supported, this involved managing the junior support staff in completing the tasks and overseeing the implementation of the change process. I was also responsible for liaising with the business users to ensure the problem was fixed.
Graduate Analyst, Software Support Analyst
I was a member of a team which was responsible for supporting an application which is used by traders to price and book foreign exchange financial derivatives.The application is also used by traders to manage risk and monitor profit and loss on their trading portfolios.This role required me to support a wide variety of applications and environments which included oracle, Solaris, linux and windows components. Some of the components where developed in java. I also supported the back end reporting system of the application that produces daily financial reports. I was responsible for documenting support procedures such as the continuity of business procedures. I also directed and organised a successful test run of the continuity of business procedure.
Nt Server Support
I was responsible for maintaining the system security on 50 window's servers.I had to regularly image the servers so that they could be restored to a recent configuration if any issues arose with servers.I planned, tested and developed a java application that connects to an oracle database to run simple queries and return results in a user friendly table.
