External Consultant (2013-2016)• Provided public affairs services to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) as an external consultant, including content production, narrative development and digital strategy guidance.• Oversaw implementation of international consultancy contract and provision of services including through hiring and managing 1-2 contractors to deliver services at NATO HQ, Brussels.• Approved team output, managed budget and finances, performed programme management duties. Fixed term contract (A2), Public Diplomacy Division, Oct 2011 – Mar 2013 As a confident communicator, I merged my strong understanding of international relations and the security and defense industry with my passion for public diplomacy in this position. I worked to boost the visibility of NATO’s projects and achievements through social media outreach, engagement programs, and web content production and management.Specifically: • Designed and managed the execution of communication campaigns on key NATO priority topics. Simplified the explanation of complex, technological matters in order to reach targeted audiences on online platforms. Includes specific deliverables for special events, including a high-value campaign for the Wales Summit in 2014.• Represented NATO as a speaker at external international briefings (including at UN HQ New York; EU Parliament Brussels), and in meetings with Ambassadors. Moderated high-level panels at events at NATO HQ and abroad.• Produced and disseminated reports assessing NATO public diplomacy content, issued monthly to the division (60 people), and quarterly to Nations (60 in division, 28 representatives, plus their counterparts in capital). These included analysis, recommendations and lessons learned for implementation.

• Designed an innovative threat assessment methodology for mitigating risk in CBRN terrorist scenarios, which was published in Defence Management Journal (Issue 54, September 2011). • Acted as researcher providing expertise on WMD nonproliferation and counter terrorism issues, includes drafting reports and policy papers; developed consortia to bid for EU-funds.

• Managed the outreach portfolio for the Weapons of Mass Destruction Centre, representing the WMDC in committees for relations between NATO and Russia; Ukraine; Mediterranean Dialogue and Istanbul Cooperative Initiative countries.• Primary researcher and speech-writer to Deputy Assistant Secretary General of the NPD as well as the Head of the WMDC on issues related to outreach; weapons of mass destruction; missile defence; non-proliferation and disarmament; public relations.

* Researched history of U.S. foreign policy to support arguments in theforthcoming book Magic and Mayhem: Why America Failed Three Wars in a Row.

* Primary contributor to a report on the use of public diplomacy for counterradicalization efforts in fragile states. Specific concentration on the Middle Eastern region.

* Evaluate content and cohesion of submissions. * Determine what was published, also recommend and coordinate revisions and resubmissions. * Worked with a team to spearhead the project, founding the Journal at Trent University in 2007.
