I design and deliver training and other learning resources in support of Canada’s international network of Trade Commissioners – helping Canadian companies succeed globally. MY COMMUNITY - I work with a network of more than 1000 Canadian Trade Commissioners and other trade professionals in 161 offices across Canada and around the world. MY GOAL - To advance the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service (TCS)’s mission to be the go-to service for international business expertise. I do so by:*providing informal one-on-one and small group orientation sessions to students and new trade officers at Global Affairs Canada (Canada-based and locally engaged staff) *delivering an introductory course to headquarters-based Trade Commissioners and officers covering trade files (in Ottawa)*developing resources for TCS’ internal trade learning portal (iTrain)*supporting the development of specialized training by other trade teams (e.g. foreign direct investment attraction, responsible business conduct/corporate social responsibility, promotion of Canada’s trade policy initiatives, Canadian Technology Accelerators program), etc. *collaborating with the Canadian Foreign Service Institute (CFSI) in support of broader trade-relevant training and learning initiatives
