During my time at the American Legislative Exchange Council, I assisted a two person full time events department in preparing for their Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City, Utah. My tasks consisted of inputting information and running the onsite app available to all 1500 attendees. I simultaneously assisted and ran onsite registration by greeting guests, checking them in, and answering any questions they may have about the event. Furthermore, I made sure each of the 15 meeting rooms were set up for the next meeting before the attendees started arriving. Before being onsite, I mastered CVENT, an online event assister, by accurately importing correct information for guests in order to print badges that all looked uniform and orderly. Additionally, I organized speakers to make sure their meeting room and time were correctly presented in the app. I meticulously reviewed spreadsheets to confirm that the guests who registered under our hotel housing block were accurate and registered for our event. I collected data from the eleven departments who hosted a combined 200+ speakers by organizing their headshots and bios as well as confirming that their combined 50 meetings had an accurate description and agenda attached to them. All this was done in order to enrich the attendee and presenter experience. Following my internship, ALEC hired me on a part time basis to manage their onsite app for an additional conference in November.
