I plan, design, lead and execute the Teachers Network portion of the Climate Resilient Schools program, and support all other components of the programs including classroom presentations and GenCLEO. I plan, design, lead and execute the CLEO Speakers Network program twice a year and train new CLEO staff to be climate speakers. I build relationships with stakeholders in the community that are key to the Teachers Network and Climate Resilient Schools and foster new partnerships that can improve programming outcomes (teachers, principals, directors, students, administrators, and educational organizations) as well as build capacity to bring more climate education into the State Standards (CPALMS). I develop lesson plans and other curriculum materials focused on climate and environmental justice.In the Fall of 2022, I planned a climate education conference in Miami, FL with 8 guest speakers and almost 100 registered attendees and served as a Science Rising trainer with the Union of Concerned Scientists.

I work on expanding the CLEO Teacher’s network by promoting professional development workshops for teachers throughout Florida. Responsibilities include connecting with school boards in each county, writing grants, hosting workshops, adding new schools to the Climate Resilient Schools program, and supporting climate and energy initiatives in schools. I also run the CLEO Speakers Network, training community members to give climate presentations and providing opportunities for civic engagement and collective action on climate justice issues.

Sea to See is an inquiry-based program that brings marine animals to classrooms throughout Leon County and introduces students to the concepts of marine ecology, evolution, and taxonomy through hands-on learning.This program also runs marine science camps throughout the summer based on student-led laboratory and field-based investigations. I developed the online classroom for a virtual camp in the Canvas LMS. I conduct lessons for PreK through 5 and develop standards-aligned lesson plans for the program.

Responsibilities include assisting graduate students with research, archiving data, and lab prep. Collected worm eels for spawning research and organized data for St. John’s River Ichthyoplankton project. Manager of the outdoor aquaculture lab, responsible for maintaining water quality and fish health. Research on feeding ecology and spawning behavior of Gulf of Mexico fishes.

Responsibilities include water quality testing, use of YSI and Hydrolab multiprobes, sampling from small boats, seagrass monitoring transects, and other environmental monitoring parameters.

Assisted with oyster reef restoration project, education and outreach concerning the Indian River Lagoon, feeding aquatic animals.
