About Karthik Shankar
I manage a part of GPU Firmware team at NVIDIA. My team works on design and development of firmware for current and future generation of NVIDIA chips. My team and I work on various firmware features like power management, security, device initialization, etc. My team and I are immensely involved in different phases of chip lifecycle from pre-silicon, bring up to production.I also have experience in developing device drivers and board support package for embedded systems. I have previously worked on virtualization technology as well. I have done multiple academic projects related to computer architecture, operating systems , hardware software co-designing etc, mainly aimed at performance and power improvement of embedded systems.Interests: System software, computer architecture, operating systems, firmware, device driversTechnical skills: C, C++, assembly (x86, Nvidia proprietary ISA), debugging, Python, etc
