Karvi is a litigator who routinely appears in an array of Administrative, Civil, Commercial, Corporate and Employment-related matters at all court levels. While he is predominantly involved in the highly specialised areas of Corporate and Regulatory Law and often solicited to advise on issues pertaining to the fairly new and niche fields of Data Protection & Cybersecurity and Competition Law (Antitrust), Karvi’s predilection remains the Napoleonic Civil Law. He is in fact a prolific writer on the contemporary application of the Civil Code in Mauritian Commercial and Administrative Law. His mémoire, "La Responsabilité de la Puissance Publique à Maurice", has been published by the Institute for Judicial and Legal Studies (IJLS) (Mauritius).Karvi is therefore remarkably familiar with both the modern and traditional considerations of business operators in Mauritius. He has quickly become the trusted external counsel for leading players in various sectors, namely, agriculture; business process outsourcing; real estate; marketing; and manufacturing. His role spans from drafting complex commercial agreements to advising on economic restructuring and its impact on workforce.Karvi won a scholarship to pursue a Joint-Honours degree in Law and Psychology at the University of Northampton (UK) before he completed his Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) with a “Very Competent” award at the Nottingham Law School (UK). He also holds a post-graduate Diplôme Universitaire en Droit Civil Mauricien avec mention from l’Université de la Réunion (France).He was called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn in 2016 and was admitted to the Bar of Mauritius in 2017.
