Development and Maintenance of iSeries (AS/400) programming.

Full Software Development Life Cycle, sometimes as Project Manager and sometimes as a participant. I have been involved in many projects, including concept, analysis, design, programming, testing, implementation, training, and maintenance.

I began here as a consultant when the company made the decision to automate. I initially developed core applications, including Driver Cashiering, several models of A/R, Airport Booth Cashiering, Guest Services for Hotels, Paratransit, Courier, and several others. This was done initially on an IBM System 36. We installed Harris Data financial applications, and I integrated all of our custom applications into accounting.In the early 1990's, we upgraded to an AS/400, and they began to have in house IT staff. We jointly developed a state of the art (for that time) Reservation and Dispatch System. I personally developed a Destination Management System, which was integrated with PO's, A/P, and G/L. I also developed a Tours System, for "per person" excursions which included transportation and other activities. I did extensive modifications to the Harris Data financial applications. I wrote custom Financial Statements for Executive Management.Besides the entire life cycle of development, I provided training, support, and maintenance. My analysis of the business requirement was always achieved by gaining a complete understanding of the job being done by the people who would use the software. In doing so, I also gained a complete understanding of all Mears business models, and the transportation industry.
