Well versed in the Control Room Environment,(Command & Control, currently Storm, previously Intergraph) multi skilled in taking and dealing with calls, dispatching units via radio and dealing with traumatised people and truly harrowing events. Years of experience in communicating with people at all levels with understanding and respect. An empath by nature, putting myself in the position of those who need service promotes the quickest, most suitable response. Juggling diminishing resources in order to meet demand in an environment where cuts have hit hard and trying to ensure the best response and outcome wherever possible is probably one of the toughest roles within the Police Family.Lots of interactions with other agencies in many forms, phone, email radio help to enable successful partnership working. A must in this day and age. No agency can manage alone, everyone needs the assistance of others at times. A truly demanding, relentless role over a 24hr shift pattern which can have both positive and negative outcomes and is truly challenging yet rewarding in today's climate.

The reception role is probably one of the most underrated and undervalued position in any company. You are the FIRST face, FIRST voice, the FIRST IMPRESSION the majority of people will have of any organisation. Be smiley, be happy but BE PROFESSIONAL.... your company depends on it!Lots of experience in a customer facing environment, excellent communication skills, enable to relate to all ages and social levels, altering manner of speech as and when required. Answering, directing and rerouting calls as necessary, efficient and prompt message taking and distribution along with issuing of visitor badges, accepting and dispatching deliveries to the correct people or departments. Having the flexibility and capability to help out in other areas where required utilising Microsoft Office Packages. I thoroughly enjoyed this position and only moved on as I felt I needed a complete change in career and to find something that would personally challenge me!
