As a member of the Lullabot team, I've been able to hone my web development skills and accelerate and share my accessibility knowledge. I’m part of the Accessibots team. where we aim to share our accessibility knowledge with each other. I’ve performed design and code accessibility audits and remediation, and I regularly work cross-functionally to aid in accessibility wherever possible. I also use various tools to perform automated and manual accessibility testing on all of my code and code I’m reviewing in GitHub.

I worked as a Web Accessibility Specialist at Promet Source, and I still worked in front-end development as needed as well. I acted as product manager for the Promet accessibility audit and remediation product by working with a team of two to develop it, increase its capabilities, and maintain it. I also trained clients and our team virtually and in-person. audited sites against 508 and WCAG 2.1 standards, provided custom code fixes based on those results, and remediated accessibility issues in Drupal and WordPress.

Developed and maintained county websites in Drupal 7, including applications designed with ASP.NET/VB.NET, SQL Server 2008, IIS 7.5, HTML5, CSS3, PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, XML, XSLT, Bootstrap 3 and Google Analytics. This is where I began my accessibility journey. I belonged to a local user's group and saw a presentation from a user who was blind. It was an eye-opening experience, and I never looked back. I became an accessibility advocate and started learning and attending anything accessibility.

Infinity Web Solutions was my own web development company based out of my home office. I created and maintained several web sites for different companies in the area, and also performed contract work where available. After acquiring my position as Webmaster of Douglas County, Kansas, I decided to stop my self-employment so that I could focus more time on my career at the county and my son.

I was fortunate enough to be assigned to a 3-month contract to work with the Web Development team at Autodesk as a Graphic Designer.

This company no longer exists, but I worked as a Web Developer with a team of others. Our job was to create 2+ new website designs for the company's customers per day. Besides meeting some wonderful people who are friends to this day, this position greatly helped me to speed up my web design process and helped me to gain more needed experience.

This was my first position as a Web Developer. I was able to work from home with this position, so that I could also raise my young son from home. Everything that I learned about web and graphic design and development came from hands-on work, starting with FrontPage and Photoshop.
