Akademiska Hus is a state-owned real estate company that owns, develops and facilitates about 62 percent of the University building stock in Sweden (including student housing). Akademiska Hus strives towards a long-term sustainable development of University campus and surroundings and aims towards climate neutrality by 2035. My research is about digital transformation and its opportunities and challenges. The goal is provide scientifically based knowledge and recommendations for how to operate an existing building stock in a sustainable and user centric manner. The project is a collaboration between Akademiska Hus & KTH Royal Institute of Technology, The Department of Energy Technology. Supervisors Prof Per Lundqvist, Prof Björn Palm and Dr. Marco Molinari. This PhD project is also within the framework of KTH Live-in Lab, enabling a multidisciplinary approach of collaboration with Stockholm University the Department of Law and KTH School of Achitecture and the Built Environment.

Asset Optimisation and Trading (AOT) is the Business Division where all asset optimisation and trading activities are centralised for the Vattenfall Group. The full range of energy commodities is traded and the mission is to optimise and hedge the company's generation plants and customer portfolios. The electricity output of Vattenfall's power plants are sold and electricity for customers are bought on the Nord Pool power market.Working as a thermal planning dispatcher includes Nord Pool Spot bidding, planning and dispatching intraDay and Dayahead of the Danish assets, with a strong focus on how to maximize the value of the production portfolio. Constantly dealing with complex problems and urgent decisions, all in order to ensure that every asset risk is managed efficiently.The Price Forecast Analyst creates a spot price forecast for the Nordic energy market and its price areas. It is based on available market information such as cable capacities, Urgent Market Messages, wind & weather forecasts and consumption & production forecasts.

The main objective of the internship was to monitor meetings and commissions, all in line with the agenda of UN-Habitat; Gender equality and women´s empowerment issues, Child empowerment, Housing and shelter, water and sanitation and other basic infrastructure. I Attended meetings and prepared reports for the 56th sessions of the Commission on the Status of Women and the United Nations Inter-Agency Network of Gender and Women´s Equality (IANGWE), the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the Sixty-sixth session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

Göteborg

At Ctk I gained experience as a consultant and project manager, within the field of civil engineering and architecture. Working at Ctk complemented my university studies and provided real work experiences. One project included development of design and construction strategies for a conference hotel, located in the Gothenburg archipelago. Another project aimed at analyzing existing methods and tools, in order to evaluate the condition of concrete dams. I was also leading marketing projects, working with brand building strategies and strengthening Ctk´s success story.

Kenya

The main objective of this internship was to produce a research report about green building guidelines in a Sub-Saharan context. I also conducted in-depth research into thematic areas such as climate change, urbanisation, pro-poor housing and national and international policies. I participated in slum-upgrading workshops together with local dwellers and assisted in development of on-line tools. Furthermore, I developed the UN-HABITAT Shelter Branch network, through compiling a relevant profile of key organizations, all active in the field of sustainable urban development.

Kompetensbygget is a programme for civil engineering students that provides unique experiences of construction, project management and accounting.
