As a Human Rights Programme Specialist, I was in charge of leading the Human Rights portfolio under the 'Leave No One Behind' Team, with a particular focus on overseeing projects aimed to improve human rights for marginalized youth in conflict and recent post-conflict settings. As a Youth, Peace and Security Consultant, I provided project coordination support to the Youth, Peace and Security Officer and the former UN Special Rapporteur on Minority Issues. The majority of tasks involved coordinating the first-ever global research on “Protection of Youth in Civic Spaces” to provide evidence-based guidance for multiple stakeholders on creating an international system of protection for youth whose civil and political rights are violated, with a particular focus on vulnerable groups in conflict and recent post-conflict settings.Key highlights:• Supported successful project-specific fundraising; • Coordinated 300 qualitative confidential interviews and consultations worldwide + 200 surveys; • Conducted extensive background research and literature reviews; writing and developing summary reports, concept notes and agendas, while working with and reporting directly to the former UN Special Rapporteur on Minority Issues (the lead researcher).
