Starting as a teenager😁👌 I have worked in many areas of the public sector for over 30 + years. I have worked for and with many Third sector orgs carrying out projects, expeditions, global citizenship and international exchanges My early professional career was in local authorities, social work child care/child protection and groupwork with adolescents and their families. From 2003-2013 my work as a visiting tutor at the University of Edinburgh was extremely enjoyable and involved teaching and optimising experiential learning on a range of subjects including integration of data, research, intelligence, communication and engagement, project management and all quality improvement methodologies to embed and sustain system and process improvements. The last two decades I have enjoyed and been constantly challenged by a senior/exec role in the NHS, locally, regionally and nationally leading and directing strategic priorities, improvement programmes, portfolio management to deliver sustainable improvement. My time in NHS Tayside as Interim Director of Mental Health was so nourishing and productive, working with a great team of staff across mental health, responding to an Independent Inquiry and developing he MHW Strategy, Living Life Well in Tayside was a huge collective effort across all stakeholder groups as it was developed virtually during Covid 19 Pandemic. When passion and belief are in existence anything is possible!I am currently working at Scottish Government as a Professional Advisor (Strategic Change) at a time of challenge and complexity bringing plenty of opportunities for renewal. I enjoy the profile, priority and diverse nature of the national portfolio of work and the huge potential to make a difference through innovation, creativity and inclusion. A significant part of my work over the years has been leading the design and development of strategies, projects, programmes and laterally portfolios of complex and whole system change. I have successfully developed a multi disciplinary improvement team based approach that engages all stakeholders in an inclusive approach to service design, change with proven successful outputs and outcomes. The the aim of all our work is developing high quality responsive services. Specialties: Quality Improvement, Programme and Project Management, Change Management, Service Redesign using a range of Lean tools and techniques. Strategy Development. Stakeholder Engagement. Working on complex projects involving multiple organisations. Coaching and Mentoring.
