For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated with how things work, in the challenge of breaking things apart and seeing how they fit together. And so, it feels only natural that I have chosen to pursue a career in ‘figuring out’ one of the greatest marvels in biology – the human body. My ultimate career goal is to achieve a Doctor of Medicine and to work as a professional in the medical field. As a precursor to studying for my MD, I have recently undertaken a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at Griffith University. Entering an industry with such a dynamic nature as medicine, is a prospect that motivates me. I find a career where I will spend my entire professional life learning and evolving as a person especially fulfilling. I work best under pressure and the opportunity to enter a workplace that will stimulate me every day, forcing me to employ critical thinking strategies in high-stress situations, truly excites me.My experience in collaborative situations from a young age has gifted me invaluable skills in teamwork that I will be able to employ in the workplace. My participation in instrumental music throughout my schooling, from 2010-2020, highlights my ability to work in group situations where, in order to reach a desired outcome, a great deal of communication, patience and respect is required. Moreover, in group situations, I am comfortable assuming positions of leadership, exemplified in my roles as an Academic Pillar Leader and STEM Ambassador throughout high school, as well as my position as a debating team captain and coach from 2016-2020. My level of academic achievement both in high school and university is indicative of the organisational and time management skills I have in my employ.
