The Unite Foundation is an independent charity that runs a nationwide accommodation scholarship, supporting estranged and care experienced students with a free #HomeAtUniversity. The scholarship takes care of students’ accommodation and bills for up to 3 years at university. The charity currently works with 31 university partners across England and Scotland, and the team works closely with Unite Students; the charity’s accommodation partner and principal corporate donor.

Reset is the national charity leading the movement for community-led welcome in the UK, enabling communities to increase the number of refugees able to seek sanctuary here and supporting them to rebuild their lives. Reset provides training, support and advice for communities, local authorities and sector charities, and brings together user-feedback and research to shape policy and practice. I led a team of between 7 and 20 people. Key achievements: - Transformed Reset from a brand-new national charity with fractious sector relationships and an ineffective delivery model to one of strong trust with both government and the refugee sector;- Led the development of Reset's Homes for Ukraine matching service, bringing together digital expertise with the power of effective communication with sponsors and refugees; - Shaped government policy and process, from the role of sponsorship and hosting within immigration, through to the speed of the application process for community groups;- Enabled mission-driven growth, including quadrupling Reset's turnover and more than doubling staff size;- Forged cross-sectoral relationships (government, NHS, academic and charity) to fund and pilot community welcome of refugee nurses on skilled-talent visas arriving to live and work in the UK;- Built relationships across the refugee sector and between civil society and government through co-chairing and shaping the Home Office's Resettlement Strategic Engagement Group.

Learn English at Home supports refugees and migrants living in Kingston, Richmond and Hounslow who are struggling to access services and communicate their needs due to their very low levels of English language. The charity trains local volunteers to deliver bespoke, practical English language lessons to adults who are unable to attend college because of their child-care responsibilities, ill-health or illiteracy in their first language. I led a team of six staff and over 100 volunteers. Key achievements:- Development and implementation of an ambitious strategic plan, seeing the charity expand into Hounslow;- Growth of core 1:1 support service to reach 25% more vulnerable and isolated adults and launch of evidence-based programme of targeted classes;- Securing funding from a range of grant funders (large and small, local and national, with a 55% application success rate and a ROI of 30:1), winning LEAH's first commissioned income, and growing unrestricted income through a new service offer, a programme of events, and relationships with local business;-Restructure of the organisation, strengthening delivering processes and growing internal talent.

I led Think Global's programmes team to create, secure and deliver income-generating projects to support global learning in schools, including: fundraising from grants, statutory and European sources; working in a large consortia on a 5-year, national programme in schools; developing innovative new products for teachers and educational charities.

I worked to develop, deliver and evaluate Think Global's programme to support global learning in schools including: coordinating professional development opportunities and resources for educators (practice-sharing networks, workshops, good practice guides and online resources); raising the profile of global learning at conferences, in journals and through the media; building close relationships with institutional stakeholders; securing new sources of funding (including proposal and bid-writing); and carrying out consultancy including resource-writing and the evaluation of educational projects.
