I worked within the strategy team at Foxtel, where my primary focus was customer research to help achieve our strategic goal of putting our customers first. Specifically responsible for projects relating to customer loyalty and retention as well as customer experience during a customer journey.I also managed new and exciting projects with the aim to improve the customer experience that respond to topical business issues.

Working as part of the consumer insights team on a 6 month contract, I was responsible for overseeing the management of commissioned research projects and interpreting insights to brand strategy for various product portfolios. I was integral to the gathering and reviewing of current information held, to shape the design of future projects and ensure that project briefs served the needs of internal stakeholders.

As a Senior Account Manager I had ownership of key accounts and staff. I developed accounts with consumer brands such as Musashi, Mars, and P&G as well as managing large scale strategic B2B research, for example, leading the Caltex business account. ACA Research specialise in B2B research as such I now have a grounded understanding for business issues rather than ‘just research’ and am competent talking strategy with key decision makers as well as lead consumer brand human and animal health and well-being research. This role spanned shopper insight, branding and ad evaluation to CSAT tracking, NPD and segmentation. Other skills utilized here include SPSS, time-management to meet tight deadlines, financial planning and client development, and delivering quality outputs for the multiple research projects I balance at any one time.

I decided to further my career in marketing in order to build on my skills and gain an international perspective (temporary position due to visa restrictions). I worked with a new range of clients and my role as Project Manager allowed me to become more involved with account management, as well as project management and data analysis. I attended training sessions, for example using SPSS, client communication, higher analysis techniques and revenue which helped me embrace and learn quickly Australia’s way of doing things.

My role as client consultant encompassed all aspects of research; through the Nunwood Academy Graduate Programm I was introduced to pitching for projects, survey design, project set up, and analysis and reporting findings to clients and their internal stakeholders. I learned the fundamentals of both quantitative research and qualitative techniques. I was the key point of communication for key clients, responsible for managing their full service. At Nunwood I was able to work with a variety of national and global clients therefore my experience covers a range of industries such as financial services (CFS, Norwich Union, and RAC), education (Open University, Sheffield Hallam University), retail (Which? Magazine, Matalan, The Co-operative Pharmacy, The Co-operative Travel), and FMCG (Reckitt Benckiser, Warburton’s, Nestle). I was also encouraged to earn new business where an opportunity presented itself from client research, internal ‘industry spotlights’ or desk research that might be transferable to new existing clients
