While living in Copenhagen, I worked almost full time as a relief teacher for Mathematics, Science, Drama and English. This was covering ages from 4 years to 16 years.

Austria

I worked a seasonal job in Mayrhofen, Zillertal Valley, in a ski hire and depot shop. This was a fantastic opportunity to explore the Austrian mountain slopes in any free time I could find.

Auckland, New Zealand

I was a member of Harrison Grierson’s water process team in the Auckland office during 2011-2012. I was involved in projects around New Zealand, Australia and Fiji. These projects included upgrades, new design and solutions to current design issues for drinking water treatment plants to ensure the relevant Drinking Water Standards were met.

Townsville, Australia

I worked for Douglas Partners during a semester of study in James Cook University, Townsville. This job involved working on site with drillers for bore hole logging for site investigations, water quality monitoring at existing sites, inspections and mapping for new projects, drill supervision, laboratory testing, geotechnical analysis and written consent reporting.

Perth, Australia

This work challenged me and required me to coordinate machine operators and drilling teams, supervise and direct these operators, handle explosives, learn surveying using GPS for the drill patterns and be the sole surveyor for my shift, oral reporting and self management. I obtained Mine Safety qualifications, assisted with Health and Safety management at Sunrise Dam Gold mine site and received survey and computer training for mine mapping programmes. I was part of the blast guard team, ensuring the safety of people and security of the mine during daily explosions and assessing the safety of the working area of the mine after each explosion.
