As a Senior Data Analyst in the Strategy and Performance Branch, my responsibilities included:• Production and management of a client and services database containing information provided by department-funded homelessness agencies, using SAS and SQL Management Studio for ETL. I increased use-ability through creating new variables from existing data elements to maximise information about clients and their journeys through homelessness services. • Communicating and explaining the structure of the data and the available fields and their definitions to stakeholders internally or in other departments, as well as interpreting and explaining the significance of analysis results. • Communicating detailed knowledge of the Victorian homelessness services sector and how it related to the client data collection.• Preparing reports for ad hoc or regular requests, including providing advice on the most appropriate data fields to use. I used MS Access, SQL Server Management Studio, Excel and PowerQuery for reporting.• Writing for a variety of audiences and resources including; writing memos and operational guidance, preparing technical manuals, documenting/maintaining lists of database fields and definitions, stating results of analyses, writing notes to accompany data to ensure accurate use.
