I am a Nutrition Student at Newcastle University, with a great passion for food and the science behind it. Currently working for Teach First as a Campus Brand Manager, I am excited to continue this work and start to begin my own career journey.Previously, I have volunteered for various organisations and worked as a tutor for MyTutor. This was an incredibly rewarding position as it enabled me to support students to develop their learning and start thinking more independently. I was also a waitress and barista in The Chocolate Café for a number of years. Through this role, I was able to develop my skills in communication and working as a team. Additionally, I was exposed to the stress of a busy environment gained much more experience in coping under pressure but I also found satisfaction in being a part of my local community. My enthusiasm for baking and cake decorating has led to me being commissioned for various projects including some wedding cakes. Through my degree, I have been able to gain first hand experience in lab work, food product development and improved my skills in good clinical practise. I have also shown to overcome any nerves from multiple occasions of public speaking and presentations in front of large groups of people.
