My degree and background is in Graphic design however my career has taken many different paths. I have worked in Animation, freelance design work, art commissions, glass work, printmaker, teacher of Art and Design, head of department and now I run my own company; Kate Guy Prints. I use my original artwork to develop limited edition, quality products for the home. This enables me to spread my work to reach a wider audience; bringing quality art and design into everyday life; creating affordable and practical art.

Head Of Art And DesignClaremont High School Academy Jan 2004 - Aug 2012London, United KingdomThe department I run is very successful with high achievement and enjoyment by all students. I am continually developing my teaching practice and my leadership skills. There are four of us in the department and I enjoy developing and using the strengths and interests of a very dedicated and talented group of teachers. Our curriculum provision is constantly developing to reflect the changing needs of our students and the technological and economic changes in the 'outside' world. We are all practising artists as well as dedicated teachers which leads to a dynamic and relevant, contemporary educational experience for all our students. After working freelance when my children were small I decided I needed a new challenge. I did my PGCE and then got a job at Claremont High School Academy. I was made Head of Department in my first year and embraced the challenge of a new career; the responsibilities and opportunities it brings.
