This position is a three-month paid industry placement under the Cyber Skills Enrichment Program, a joint initiative of Cyber Audit Team and Griffith University. The primary aim of this program is to increase the quantity, quality, and diversity of skilled and job-ready cyber security talent in South East Queensland. During the 12-week intensive program, I will receive comprehensive hands-on training in various areas of cyber security such as governance, risk and compliance, managed detection and response, security engineering, vulnerability management, incident response, and reporting. This program will equip me with practical cyber security skills, improve my critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, and ultimately position me for a career in this dynamic field. Responsibilities:- Interpreting Prescriptions: Optical Dispensers use prescriptions from optometrists or ophthalmologists to help patients select the appropriate eyeglasses or contact lenses.- Advising Patients: They provide advice on lens types, frame styles, and lens coatings based on the patient’s prescription, lifestyle, and facial features.- Taking Measurements: They measure patients’ eyes, including the distance between pupils and the distance from the eye surface to the glasses, to ensure a proper fit.- Fitting and Adjusting Eyewear: They fit and adjust spectacles and contact lenses to ensure comfort and effectiveness.- Repairing Eyewear: They perform minor repairs and adjustments on glasses1.- Customer Service: They educate patients on how to care for their eyewear and handle any eyewear-related queries.- Administrative Tasks: They manage inventory, process orders, and maintain patient records.Skills:- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of optical products, including different lens types and materials.- Attention to Detail: Precision in taking measurements and fitting eyewear.- Customer Service: Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and provide personalized service.- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to eyewear.- Manual Dexterity: Good hand-eye coordination for adjusting and repairing eyewear.
