I write, edit and consult across editorial, commercial, digital and social, with a focus on lifestyle and culture, specialising in design, interiors, gardens, travel and trends. I also produce, art direct and style shoots. EDITORIAL: As a writer and editor, I contribute to a wide range of titles including the Guardian / Observer, Independent, London Evening Standard, Telegraph, and The Times; and magazines / sites such as Elle Decoration, the World of Interiors, Design Anthology, Livingetc, Arch Digest, Gardens Illustrated, The Garden RHS, Dezeen, DesignSponge, Remodelista, Wallpaper* and LivingEtc plus big sellers including Homes & Gardens, House Beautiful and Ideal Home – as well as numerous international publications. I have experience in sourcing, briefing and commissioning writers and photographers, as well as directing a full editorial team to deliver projects on time and on budget. COMMERCIAL: As well as consulting, either directly with brands or through content agencies.I have also worked on commercial / B2C / special projects a wide range of publishers, including the Guardian (Labs), The Times (Studio News UK) and The Telegraph (Spark), alongside work for content companies including Redwood, Brown Dog, Haymarket and international companies such as We Love Words, working directly with the client, commissioning, writing, editing and consulting across print, digital and video – as well as working on strategy, trend forecasting and pitching. I also create SEO driven-copy and social media posts. Brands include John Lewis, Neptune, Next, Habitat, Berkeley Homes and Dulux. SHOOTS: I produce, art direct and style shoots, also handling photography when budgets are tight. PREVIOUSLY: Before going freelance I was at ELLE Decoration for a decade, writing and editing each section in turn - news, practicals and homes - as well as editing supplements and styling / art directing photoshoots.
