As a Business Analyst, my work primarily consists of:- Business Requirements: documentation and analysis to determine what the business requires; informing system requirements.- Capabilities Assessments: assessment of the business capabilities (organization, process, information and technology) to determine readiness and gaps in supporting the project.- Business Case: financial business case creation to represent the potential business and customer value created by an initiative.- Gap Analysis: evaluation of current state capabilities against a specific domain or functional standard; further identifying high-level requirements- Best Practice Research: functional and topical research to support analysis and provide outside validation of recommendations. - Prioritization/Road-mapping: rank ordering opportunities based on impact to business and customer and feasibility to implement, then illustrated in a road map to indicate cadence of work.- Backstage Mapping: conducting an inventory audit of backstage capabilities to identify areas of pain impacting front-stage experiences. (Includes development of journey stories and narratives to identify insights and opportunities)- Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis: analysis to support decision making and experience design based on urgency, availability of data and decisions needed.
