Kate Mackenzie has been working as a Social Worker in the homelessness sector since 2017. Having worked at VincentCare and the St Kilda Crisis Contact Centre, she has an in-depth understanding of the service sectors in Victoria, as well as challenges faced by people experiencing homelessness who access these services. Kate was excited to join the Bridge It Team because of the organisations commitment to creating homes and not just housing through building creative and client-centred initiatives. Kate’s tertiary qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts, Graduate Diploma of Psychology, and Master of Social Work. Kate is passionate about critical applications of Social Work that seek to address social injustices, as opposed to focusing on individualised issues. In her work with clients, Kate is experienced in employing strength-based and solution-focussed approaches, and aims to always provide flexible, creative, and client-centred support.
