I research, communicate and educate on the topic of climate risk in the financial sector, helping the financial and corporate sectors, policymakers, and regulators understand what climate change will mean. I look at both stranded assets and the impacts of climate change itself, as well as emerging related technologies may affect markets. My particular focus is on climate change as a rapidly evolving financial risk, rather than an ethical or moral cause.

The Asia-based staff writer for the Financial Times' Alphaville blog; main topics these days are China, energy and Japan. Banks, commodities, financial markets, risk and Australia/NZ are also of interest.Also filling in as Australia correspondent from time to time.

I devised, launched and edited this energy analysis blog, which covered the entire energy complex from crude oil to renewables, and ranged from commodities market analysis to climate change policy.

This was an extremely wide-ranging role with numerous responsibilities for leading and furthering change at a crucial time in the Financial Times' online development. Working closely with the editor of FT.com and other senior editors as well as staff in all parts of editorial, commercial, and technical areas, I was a key contact on a variety of projects. Key projects included a dramatic expansion of the FT's blog offerings; launching the FT's Twitter presence, analysing and making recommendations on third-party service providers; representing editorial on the broader FT.com redesign project; formulating reader comment policies; and liaising between editorial departments to implement workflow changes.I also established a new team of multimedia journalists using data, audio, video and Flash, and oversaw several high profile editorial projects.
