My main roles within the team includes technical and engagement support. I engage with a range of diverse people with different ages and backgrounds to educate on flood risk, mitigation techniques and the schemes in their local area. I am an excellent passionate communicator, and am responsible for hitting our objectives, for example when engaging with people, making sure the subject matter and situation is understood by as many as possible.I provide technical support, and I am relied upon for supporting projects through GIS and data analysis, and am the lead GIS user for the team, training others as I work. This work includes a variety of tasks, from providing and analysing data in excel, to producing maps to aid in colleagues tasks. It is often fast paced, and involves short turnaround times.I am also currently leading on the Flood Warning Expansion Project that will provide new flood warning services to places in Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk. As part of this, I have created, edited and analysed shapefiles on ArcGIS, interpreted complex flood models, as well as collected data from site visits to affected households. Key duties of my job were assessing flood risk through enquirers and permits, answering customer enquirers (i.e. creating product 4s) and modelling. I was also in charge of allocating customer enquiries to members within my team. I was also in charge of writing Flood Risk Activity permits assessing the risk and whether a permit was required to stop an increase in flood risk. Working as member of the bar team has greatly enhanced my skills at dealing with the public. Effectively working as a team player is key to this job as it relies on you being able to communicate clearly and work well together with fellow colleagues.

In this role I was responsible for stock display by making sure the shop floor looked aesthetically pleasing as well as been practical. My job was also to assist in sales and using the till to process purchases. Using your own indicative was crucial in this job as you were expected work without the constant need of assistance
