Skildare is a Newcastle-based HR consultancy company that provides businesses with smart and simple HR strategies and advice, to craft an engaged workplace culture that brings out the best in people.As a HR Consultant, I support a portfolio of retainer and project-based clients, acting as their internal HR professional or providing HR expertise to support specific projects.Day to day my role includes supporting business leaders with HR and IR compliance, performance management and employee relations issues, recruitment, organisational structure and design, and training and development.I have particular interest and focus in supporting clients with compliance based activities, completing remuneration reviews in line with Award provisions and ensuring compliance with employment law updates.

This role involved me continuing to work alongside the rest of the Skildare team on HR support work for clients. My role included policy writing, development and revision of position descriptions, performance management tools and systems, and EnableHR assistance for clients. The role also expanded into office management responsibilities including system administration, payroll and general administration.

This position involved a combination of administrative and assistant functions for Skildare, along with some human resource focused tasks for clients. These tasks included assisting with the administration of performance management for clients, policy writing and writing position descriptions.This position also allowed close work with and mentoring from managing director, Di, and CEO, Adam, to foster the continual development of more advanced human resource skills, knowledge and practical application.

Lake Macquarie Bbc

Through a partnership with the University of Newcastle and NAB, I was one of 8 final year business/commerce students selected for a 6 month internship with NAB, primarily based in their Lake Macquarie Business Banking Centre.During the 6 month scholarship, 2-3 days a week were spent experiencing various business banking functions, spending days with different banking specialists and in different areas of NAB, and completing business banking associate roles.

I worked at Cotton On as a casual sales assistant whilst studying. During the almost 6 year period, my main duties revolved around customer service and sales. I was also responsible for running shifts in the absence of store managers.
