Katharine Ogden from an early age was immersed in political activism and government within her local community. Beginning her high school career as a volunteer at Jessica's House, a non-profit organization that serves to make grief counseling accessible to all members of the community. Taking her compassion from the perils that she experienced in her low-income community, during the pandemic Katharine sought to change a discriminatory and sexist dress code at her high school, which then reached the local legislature for Stanislaus county and was passed into the educational code. Serving as the Senior Board Representative for the City of Turlock, Katharine sat in on board meetings during a tumultuous hostile environment stemming from Covid-19. And gave interviews to her local newspaper about her opinions regarding tensions within board members over masking mandates.Taking this public speaking experience and her drive for competition, Katharine competed as an attorney on her High Schools Mock Trial team which reached the state competitive level, as well as Debating in the National Merit Society and earning the highest distinction for a competitor. Concluding her senior year, Katharine gave the academic farewell address to her classmates and thanked the community that worked together to allow her to be able to attain a degree from a four-year institution.Furthering her education, Katharine currently attends the University of California Berkeley as an Economics major with the pursuit of an Administrative Bachelor's Degree. While on campus Katharine has taken her experiences in the courtroom and working as a paralegal at Rodarakis and Sousa, to serve on her schools National winning Mock Trial team. As well as legal work, at Berkeley Katharine fostered a passion for finance and consulting work. From completing internships at Stashrun, to working on her school's ABA board and Residence Hall assembly holding leadership positions; Katharine's commitment to her education has not faltered. Earning a position on her schools Deans List and being formally invited to be a part of her classes honors society, Katharine's passion for her studies has remained consistent.Currently, Katharine is seeking out summer consulting and legal internships with the hopes to broaden a future career in Corporate Law. While being active on campus and studying diligently, Katharine still makes time to volunteer at the Berkeley Food shelter and be a support system to her friends and mentors.
