Head Of Development
CurrentI manage donor engagement and stewardship at OCF, building personal relationships with our core donors and funders. I help individuals who want to share their resources for the common good to plan their philanthropy; partner with statutory organisations flowing their funding through OCF; and work with corporates to boost their CSR through charitable giving. This includes helping donors to plan a schedule of grant-making that matches their interests and the needs of the community, and reporting back to them on the impact of their giving. In this role I am managing two people as head of the development team.
Marketing And Communications Manager
In this role at OCF, I have been responsible for the charity's messaging, brand and external communications, as well as taking a leading role in organising large-scale events. From a comms perspective I produced professional brochures and annual impact reports; built and maintained a brand-new website; wrote case studies, press articles, factsheets, fundholder reports and news stories; wrote and managed direct mail campaigns; managed the charity's social media presence; and ensured consistency of brand and style across all communications. There are some examples in the Publications section below.I also built on my long experience of organising events through my volunteer role as a Guide leader, taking charge of several large events to engage the charity's supporters, including a debate at the Oxford Union and a banquet lunch with talks at Broughton Castle. This role was the perfect culmination of my experience gained in marketing at OPP and my passion for the charitable sector.
Copywriter & Senior Editor
My role as copywriter within the Marketing team at OPP (now the Myers-Briggs Company) included consulting on, writing and uploading SEO-friendly copy to the company website; ghost-writing articles and blog posts on behalf of the CEO and other industry thought leaders; designing engaging content such as infographics and ebooks from scratch; regularly updating the company’s social media channels to connect with customers; and conducting client interviews then writing up case studies. I initiated and managed the team’s annual content marketing plan.I managed numerous projects from inception to publication. This included detailed scoping and planning, setting and managing budgets, running schedules, leading project team meetings, commissioning and briefing freelancers and internal team members, and feeding back to senior project sponsors. I was also responsible for quality control on all of the company's written publications in the editorial part of my role. In this role I also managed a Marketing Copywriter for two years.
Editor And Translation Coordinator
I started at OPP as an editor and developed strong editorial skills, working on all stages of book production from inception to proofs. The company had a small team of three editors, and all editorial work was done in-house. I was later the sole editor in the company and worked closely with authors, graphic designers and print buyers to drive the production of high-quality books and training materials in English and translation.I also used my educational background in Translation Studies to professionally manage the translation of books, training courses and psychometric tests to a high standard, implementing double translation and reconciliation where necessary.
Bookseller
I was responsible for serving and advising customers on fiction and non-fiction book purchases and for maintaining stock and book displays.
Customer Service Advisor
Working in a busy call centre coordinating the delivery of mobility equipment to the elderly and disabled, I processed orders and advised customers and health professionals on the equipment available.
Inbound Assistant
Outbound Assistant
During the third year of my undergraduate degree and for several months after graduating, I worked as an intern in a Paris-based not-for-profit association, using my fluent French to facilitate cultural exchanges for young people.
