I started this role as the Leisure Club Manager with the prime goal to build the member base due to the club having hemmoraged a large volume of members due to a competitor opening nearby. I worked strategically with the lesiure team and the central marketing team to put the village lesiure club in Bury back on the map within its local area. During my time as Leisure Club Manager I worked through extensive refurbishments and added new group exercise programmes and instructors to enhance the club offering. My journey started in November 2022 where I was initially presented with a pool closure for refurb in my first 8weeks as the new lesiure club manager. I spent a lot of my time in this role dealing with customer queries whether in person, phone or emails. Following the successful opening of a new pool, we launched a new wellness studio and a burn/boxxer studio. I worked closely with the fitness team to improve the timetable offering to members. We achieved the goal of growing our member base and hit our year end closing number largely due to the investment the club has had and me and teams attention to customer service especially dealing with customers who are thinking of leaving but also the approach we took in dealing with any form of complaint.I helped to recruit, train and educate team members within their own departments and improve our member interaction. I was also part of the hotel Duty Manager Rota which involved dealing with any complaint or hotel incidents which may arise. Including fire safety and the reporting of any first aid accidents. I am leaving this role to find a better work/life balance and reduce my onsite working hours.

I am responsible for ensuring that our group exercise products and services are implemented and delivered to the highest of business standards. My role is to support clubs within their regions to increase member penetration into group exercise.I support individual club growth performance plans, maximise occupancy of all group exercise classes, embed the principles of Programming Excellence and drive improved member experience and satisfaction.I work directly with club teams to share best practice, implement agreed systems and procedures across every club to improve member satisfaction and give club teams the understanding of what they need to do to maximise their classes and get more members working out together in groups*Furloughed Mid March 20 - Jul 20. Returning 1st August to support Cheadle and Leeds in the club during GEC absence. Taking my regional role experience and leadership experience back to the floor to ensure programming excellence in these 2 high footfall clubs working primarily on availability of classes with the sites whilst ensuring freelance and the whole club team understand all things group exercise. I am looking forward to working with freelance, club teams and member interaction to get these clubs performing to the highest possible standards.Redundant Jan 2021.

Whitefield

The opportunity came up to manage whitefield and having already built a very successful, well attended group exercise timetable here and living nearby, i was very excited to be back in my home club. Whitefield came with more challenges, a much higher memberbase, more staff, additional footfall from 3rd Parties and i was ready for the challenge to steady this big club operationally. I am a forward thinker, i can very quickly find solutions to any operational problem which may be hindering the customer experience. During my time at Whitefield i have created a culture of togetherness between the staff and the members, managing to hold a member base of nearly 7000 members in one of the smallest square foot premise in Total Fitness with attrition falling from 5% to 3%. I am a hard working, self driven, inspiring, supportive manager who works closely with each one of my team members. I believe in getting the job done by having fun with serious intent. I genuinely care for everyone, staff and members alike. I love to see people grow and develop within their own roles or to find themselves switching departments to unlock their own potential and keep my team engaged.

This was my first official General Manager position with Total Fitness. During my months in Walkden i was recognised and rewarded for very quickly affecting retention in a positive way delivering the best NMM in the company in my 6months as GM. Me and my team achieved this by setting a structure and disciplined approach to the new membership selling process but most importantly delivering exceptional customer service and responding to customers quickly and efficiently. I was seen by my team, setting a real example and delivering member engagement meetings to quickly overcome any member dissatifactions at the time.

I started Total Fitness as group exercise manager at whitefield. After 3months i was offered a General Manager in waiting position. During my first week of training i was recognised for my knowledge and experience and asked to look after Crewe in the absence of a General Manager. I worked here until a club became available closer to home. I helped drive the new membership sales and co-ordinate the head of departments in their own roles to deliver outstanding customer service. I was able to gain trust from the team in such a short space of time through spending quality time with people and encouraging their individuals strengths to get results!

Whitefield operates one of the biggest timetable in the company. During my time i was able to find the best freelance instructors and deliver over 70 classes per week to the members including launching new additions such as Fit Mums and Gym floor classes, raising the atmosphere and member engagement.

The best experience opening a whole new concept of Budget gym, klick fitness a division of budget gyms within the fitness first estate. opened the Whitefield doors with 4'500 members whom we joined up in the streets of whitefield in only 3months. Myself and an additional 5 Personal Trainers / Duty Managers were responsible for all aspects of operational excellence from Delivering classes, Inductions, Health & Safety, Cleaning & Maintenance, Sales & Marketing... we did it all. I then went on to help and support 9 other klick fitness clubs to deliver the same operational excellence.
